Tuesday

We started Tuesday off by taking a taxi to Shaiman Island.  We had fun going to all the different little shops and buying squeaky shoes for the kids.  Ana got her very first pair of squeaky boots.  We stopped to take some pictures of the kids with the statues in the park.  While walking through the parks and streets, we saw many middle-aged people playing hacky sack, badmitton, and exercising.  One street felt like we were walking through Sesame Street with people sitting on the steps!  Everyone just relaxing and visiting with each other.  We ate lunch at the infamous Lucy’s diner on the island then some of us headed back to the streets for more shopping.  We saw many photographers taking pictures of bride and grooms.  We were thinking they might be for magazine or catalogs because the people looked like models.  Very beautiful and the dresses were stunning!  Tuesday evening we went on the River Boat Cruise.  We were able to see the buildings of Guangzhou all lit up.  Very pretty!
